STEP Readmission

Successful Transitions through Educational Planning

If you left the College voluntarily or involuntarily* and your cumulative GPA was less than 2.0, you will have to apply for readmission through the Office of Admissions as a readmit student.

Steps for Readmission:

STEP 1: Apply for readmission though the Office of Admissions as a readmit student. Please apply before the posted deadlines as late applications will not be considered.

STEP 2: If you are readmitted, and after you receive your readmission letter and pay your tuition deposit, you must participate in the STEP Program, which includes a one-day workshop designed to help you succeed as you return to the College. Click here for more information about registering for the STEP workshop. The STEP Workshop will include:

  • Mandatory advising with staff from the Academic Advising and Planning Center
  • Learning Contract signing: STEP students are also required to sign a readmission contract that outlines the minimum GPA plus other requirements you must meet in order to remain at the College.
    • Students participating in STEP have 27 earned hours upon re-entry to return to good academic standing. It is possible to return to good academic standing before earning 27 credit hours, which would reliquish you of your learning contract.
These conditions are designed to ensure that you make forward progress towards your degree so that you can bring your cumulative GPA into good standing and ultimately graduate.

If you have been readmitted to the College through the STEP Program, but decide you cannot attend for any reason, please contact our office.

*If you previously attended the College on a First Year Impact contract, but did not meet the conditions of the program, you are required to complete a minimum of 30 credit hours at another institution before applying for readmission through the STEP Program.

Applications for readmission are due by June 1st for Fall and November 1st for Spring.

Complete applications will be reviewed upon receipt, decisions will be issued within 4 weeks of completion of application.

These policies apply to Undergraduate Students only. Graduate students should contact the Graduate School for more information.
